Saco, Aug 2? - Dr. Charles F. Meserve of Squirrel Island and Raleigh N. C. president ? of Raleigh University, was reelected president at the annual reunion of the Meserve Family Association today at the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Meserve, Lower ?ench Street.
Other officers reelected were: Fred Meserve ? ? , Gertrude M. Cleavers of Kennebunk, secretary, Charles N. Chase of Limington, treasurer. Named to the executive board were Mrs. Alva Haley of Limington, Mrs. Francis M. Cotton and Fred Meserve both of Gorham.
The large house where the afternoon session was held was ? by Amos Chase in 1763 and large sheds and barns are connected with this fine old house which has been modernized with plumbing, lights and heat but retain the old lines of architecture.
Tables were spread beneath the tall trees that shade the lawn and hot coffee and punch provided by the hosts when the picnic boxes were opened.
Mrs. Gertrude Meserve Cleaves of Kennebunk read the minutes of last year's meeting. Thirteen new members were present for the first time. C. N. Chase of Limington reported for the treasury and an obituary for Mrs. Clara Eastman Meserve of Jackson was read by the secretary.
The political fractions of the family were related by Dr. Meserve
The program committee consisted of Mrs. James B. Meserve of Biddeford and Mrs. Vernon M. Gould of Gorham. Entertainment was provided by ? and Mrs. Rebecca Thomas of Sanford ? gave readings. Charolette Meserve, Ruth Meserve and Helen Smith offered character recitations.
Responding to the presidents invitation to speak were Albert Meserve of Kennebunk, Fred Meserve of Sebago, Harrison G. Meserve, instructor in the Girls Latin School in Boston, and Mrs. Francis M. Cotton of Gorham.
An invitation from Mr. and Mrs. Gould to hold the next meeting at the Old Brick House, Fort Hill Road, Gorham was accepted and rising votes of thanks was extended the hosts and Program Committee and participants.
